The latest innovation in toilet technology is the siphonic, dual-flush toilet, which permits the user to select how much water to save with a simple push of button: either a super-green, single gallon (1.0) for liquid waste; or the standard, low-flow 1.6-gallon flush for solids. With a siphonic dual flush toilet, it's possible to receive the highest MaP test rating possible on the standard flush setting, yet still achieve an average overall 25 percent reduction in water use.

The WaterSense-certified H2Option Dual Flush Toilet line from American Standard uses this "Push 1 for 1/Push 2 for 2" approach, while incorporating two additional, distinctive features:

• A much-larger water spot in the bowl than other dual flush toilets, thanks to the unique siphonic design, keeping the bowl cleaner with each flush


• An exclusive, patented quiet jetted Power Rim Wash that completely scours the bowl with each flush, ensuring a virtually clog-free flush using at least 25 percent less water than today's toilets and reducing staining and streaking in the bowl.

The siphonic flush of the H2Option dual flush toilet pushes water and waste up the toilet's S-shaped trapway until it crests at the top. The subsequent downhill rush of the water then creates an all-but irresistible pull on the water behind it, so that every last trace of waste is removed from the bowl before being evacuated through the fully glazed, generously sized, two-inch trapway. Even at the lower, one-gallon setting, the H2O dual flush toilet flushes clear.
